- Is the order of the 72 spirits always the same across editions?
- The 1-through-72 numbering followed here is from the Mathers/Crowley edition (1904), the most widely cited. Earlier manuscripts, such as Dr. Rudd's (around 1650), preserve related lists but with variations — including the pairing of a corresponding angel with each spirit, a practice absent from Mathers' edition.
